How to upgrade, downgrade or cancel your account
We know that your project's needs can change over time. Whether it's to scale your application with more resources or to reduce costs, our platform allows you to manage your plan simply and directly through the Dashboard.
Below, we explain how plan changes (Upgrade and Downgrade) work and how to proceed if you wish to cancel services.
🚀 How to Upgrade (Switch to a higher plan)
If your project has grown and you need more resources (such as changing from the Hobby plan to Standard or Pro), you can upgrade at any time.
- Log in to your account and go to the Dashboard.
- Click on "Upgrade" and select the desired new plan/tier.
- Since we are a pre-paid platform, we handle this in two ways:
- With more than 14 days remaining: You can pay a prorated amount to upgrade while keeping your original expiration date.
- With 14 days or fewer remaining: You pay the full price of the new plan and receive extra time prorated based on what was left of your previous plan.
- Complete the payment (via Pix or card).
- Done! Your new resources and limits will be unlocked instantly upon payment approval.
📉 How to Downgrade (Switch to a lower plan)
Downgrades can be performed directly from your panel. However, the process requires extreme caution and rigorous technical evaluation before confirmation, as changes take effect the exact moment they are processed, which can impact your production services.
The system refuses the downgrade (
DOWNGRADE_NOT_ALLOWED) while your account uses more RAM than the lower plan has, while a domain is shared by more apps than the lower plan's load-balancer limit, or (Standard to Hobby) while any custom domain or workspace exists. Free those items first; nothing is switched off automatically. From Pro to Standard, automatic daily application snapshots stop.
Step-by-step to process the change
- In your Dashboard, access My Account → Billing (
account/billing). - Under Move to a smaller plan, click **Switch to ** (always the next lower plan; Hobby 1 GB cannot go lower).
- Confirm with the 8-character code emailed to you (valid for 5 minutes).
- Done! The plan changes immediately and your due date stays the same.
🛑 Account Cancellation
Plans are prepaid. If you saved a default card, the renewal is charged automatically starting 3 days before expiry; to stop it, remove the saved card in My Account → Billing before that. Without a card, you get a renewal Pix by email and the plan simply expires if you don't pay.
How does "Cancellation" work?
In practice, cancelling means not renewing.
- No surprise charges: a saved card is only charged for your plan's renewal, and you turn that off by removing the card.
- No retention tactics: You have total freedom to let the plan expire without the need to open tickets or fill out retention forms.
🗑️ Permanent Data Deletion
If you wish to end your cycle with us and request the permanent removal of your account and all associated information, please follow the procedure below:
- Request: Send an email to
lgpd@squarecloud.app(users in Brazil) orlegal@squarecloud.app(other regions). - Compliance: Your request will be processed by our legal team, strictly following LGPD and GDPR guidelines.
- Important Warning: This is an irreversible action. Deletion encompasses files, databases, logs, and settings. Once completed, data cannot be recovered under any circumstances.
💸 Refund Policy
Our refund policy is designed to ensure your peace of mind when getting to know the platform. If you purchase a plan and find that it does not meet your needs, you can request a full refund within 7 calendar days of the initial purchase, as established by the Consumer Defense Code.
To maintain transparency and fairness in our prepaid model, we emphasize that this condition applies only to your first subscription. Cycle renewals and plan upgrades are not eligible for refunds, as they represent the continuation or intentional expansion of our services.
To request it within 7 days, email finance@squarecloud.app from your registered email with your full name, account ID, the invoice and its date, and the service invoice (Nota Fiscal). Requests sent through other channels are redirected there. A refund permanently deletes all account data.
